Pilgrimages
Missionaries of the Poor (MOP)
Since the visit of Father Charles, MOP to our parish in Advent 2008, we have been supporting the Missionaries of the Poor and their works. In 2009, 16 of us made a pilgrimage to Kingston, Jamaica and worked with taking care of the 500 or so disabled and crippled residents. In 2010, our parish again supported a mission with generous gifts of clothing, medical and other supplies, and money. In 2011, 5 parish members and 6 pilgrims from other churches went to Jamaica. A slideshow of the pilgrimage is available on the right, along with recent trip reports. In 2012, 2 parish members went with 10 members of other parishes to Kingston to work with Missionaries of the Poor (click for web site) caring for disabled and homeless men, women, and children. Pilgrimages also occurred in 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019.
